Remote Learning Through October 9 Due to COVID-19

At this time, we have three confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in the Benjamin School
Community. We also have approximately 50 students and 4 staff members in quarantine. One
of our primary focus points is the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community.
With those considerations in mind, we feel it best to enter into “remote learning” for the next
several days. Therefore, as of the end of the school day Wednesday, September 30, we will go
to fully remote instruction from Thursday, October 1 through Friday, October 9. We plan to
resume “on campus” learning on Monday, October 12. Fortunately, our teachers have had the
opportunity to communicate well with their students/classes and make them aware of the
processes each of them will be utilizing, as well as their expectations for the students.

It is very important that the students check in daily with each of their teachers. Many students
have already been zooming in or joining their classes via facetime. The teachers have made it
clear to students what their expectations are. In order for a student to get credit for work
submitted and to be counted present, there must be a daily check in with the teacher. I am also
attaching a copy of the daily time schedule so that students will know the times of each class
period in order to check in promptly with those teachers that are expecting that real-time
connection.

Please contact the school if you have any questions.
